Koden — Marine & Navigation
Marine radar from 4 kW radomes to 12 kW IMO sets, digital echo sounders, GPS and DGPS navigators, chart plotters, and AIS transceivers.

Koden — Radar, Sounders, GPS & AIS
Koden Electronics has built marine electronics in Japan since 1947. The range spans 4 kW radomes for workboats up to 12 kW IMO-approved radar for SOLAS vessels, digital colour echo sounders, GPS and DGPS navigators, chart plotters, and Class A and Class B AIS transceivers.

Marine Radar — 8.4 in, 4 kW Radome
A compact 4 kW radar built around a 2 ft radome, bringing signal processing normally found on much larger professional sets to smaller vessels. The enclosed radome suits boats where a rotating open array is impractical.
Specifications
Key Features
- True trail separates moving vessels from fixed land and buoys
- Sophisticated signal processing usually reserved for larger radars
- Enclosed radome — nothing exposed to rotate or ice up
- Short 0.0625 NM minimum range for close-quarters work
- 8.4 in colour display readable in daylight
- Well suited to workboats and smaller commercial craft

Marine Radar — 10.4 in, 4 kW Open Array
The same 4 kW transmitter on a larger 10.4-inch display and an open array antenna. The open array sharpens bearing discrimination — it will separate two targets that a radome shows as a single blob.
Specifications
Key Features
- Open array gives markedly better bearing discrimination than a radome
- Dual range — watch close quarters and long range side by side
- True trail distinguishes moving targets from stationary ones
- 48 NM maximum range for coastal and offshore passage
- Choice of 3 ft or 4 ft antenna to suit the vessel
- CE certified model

IMO Marine Radar — 19 in, 12 kW
The professional IMO-standard radar in the range: 12 kW into an open array up to 9 ft, on a 19-inch display. This is the class of radar carried by SOLAS vessels rather than fitted by choice.
Specifications
Key Features
- Meets IMO carriage standards for regulated vessels
- 12 kW transmitter for long-range detection in poor conditions
- 64 NM maximum range
- Antenna options up to 9 ft for the sharpest discrimination
- Large 19 in display suited to a proper bridge installation
- Built for continuous professional watchkeeping
Echo Sounders2 products

Digital Colour Echo Sounder — 5.7 in
A compact 600 W digital echo sounder. Koden's signal processing is the point here: it holds resolution in the shallows while still pulling usable gain at depth, which cheaper sounders struggle to do at both ends.
Specifications
Key Features
- Digital processing holds detail in shallow and deep water alike
- 600 W output adequate for coastal and inshore depths
- Stores images for later review
- Compact 5.7 in display fits tight console space
- Clear colour separation between bottom, bait, and fish
- Straightforward operation for working crews

Digital Colour Echo Sounder — 8.4 in, KDF
The larger sounder, with a 1 kW option and Koden Digital Filtering. KDF strips clutter out of the picture, making it far easier to tell baitfish from a school from the seabed — the distinction that actually matters when fishing.
Specifications
Key Features
- Koden Digital Filtering removes clutter for a cleaner picture
- Distinguishes baitfish, larger fish, schools, and the sea floor
- 1 kW option reaches 1,200 m for deep-water work
- Larger 8.4 in display shows more history at a glance
- Suits everything from pleasure craft to commercial fishing
- Proven Koden sounder platform
Navigation & GPS2 products

Professional Chart Plotter
A working plotter aimed at fishing operations rather than leisure navigation. Marks, tracks, target tracks, routes, and screen captures are all held in internal memory and exported to SD card — so a productive ground can be recorded and returned to.
Specifications
Key Features
- Built for fishing efficiency, not leisure chartwork
- Records marks, tracks, routes, and drawings to internal memory
- Export and import freely between memory and SD card
- Screen captures saved alongside navigation data
- SD backup protects years of accumulated fishing grounds
- Clear professional display and key layout

IMO GPS / DGPS Navigator & Sensor
An IMO-standard GPS navigator and position sensor for regulated vessels. Beyond meeting the carriage requirement it acts as the vessel's position source, feeding radar, AIS, and plotters over NMEA and Ethernet.
Specifications
Key Features
- Meets IMO standards for carriage on regulated vessels
- SBAS augmentation for improved accuracy as standard
- DGPS capability with an external beacon receiver
- 5,000 waypoints and 100 routes for extensive passage planning
- Ethernet port for integration into a bridge LAN
- Two NMEA 0183 ports feed radar, AIS, and plotters
AIS & Multi-Function Displays3 products

Class A / Inland AIS Transceiver
A Class A AIS transceiver — the mandatory standard for SOLAS vessels, transmitting far more often and at higher power than Class B. Also supports Inland AIS for river and waterway operation.
Specifications
Key Features
- Class A transmission — the mandatory standard for SOLAS vessels
- Selectable 1 W or 12.5 W output
- Inland AIS mode for river and waterway traffic
- Pilot plug connection for boarding pilots
- Far higher reporting rate than Class B units
- Integrates with radar and ECDIS over NMEA

Multi-Function Display with Class B AIS — 10.1 in
A touchscreen multi-function display with a Class B AIS transceiver built in. Combining the two removes a separate black box and its wiring, which on a small vessel is a real saving in space and installation cost.
Specifications
Key Features
- Class B AIS transceiver and display in a single unit
- Touchscreen operation — no menu keys to learn
- You are seen by other vessels, not just seeing them
- 10.1 in screen suits small and mid-size wheelhouses
- Removes the need for a separate AIS black box
- Affordable route to AIS compliance and visibility

Multi-Function Display with Class B AIS — 21.5 in
The large-format version of the KSD-1100, on a 21.5-inch touchscreen. The extra screen area earns its place where AIS targets, charts, and radar are viewed together from a seated conning position.
Specifications
Key Features
- Large 21.5 in touchscreen for a full bridge installation
- Class B AIS transceiver integrated into the display
- Ample screen area for targets, charts, and data side by side
- Touch operation with no separate keypad required
- Single-unit installation saves space and wiring
- Readable from a seated conning position
